The United Nations International School

The United Nations International School (UNIS), which was started in 1947 for children of members of the U.N. Secretariat and delegations, offers education from nursery school age to the age of 16. It is growing each year, and in September of 1956 will have a student body of over 200 pupils, drawn from 35 different nationalities. The teachers who are recruited on an international basis, are from 9 different countries. The languages of instructions are English, French and Spanish. The school is located in Parkway Village, near New York City.
