Lunch Time for Arab Refugee

Clinging to a bucket which has been improvised from an old powder milk container, a poor Moslem refugee boy in Damascus, Syria, waits for his daily share of milk, meat, fruit, cod liver oil sent by the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
UNICEF is currently sending foods and medical items to over 800,000 Arab and Jewish refugees in Middle Eastern areas. Aid is distributed by Red Cross Societies and local volunteer workers. UNICEF-aided campaigns against malaria and tuberculosis are underway. Aid such as UNICEF's is this boy's only hope of avoiding a future of sickness and perhaps even stunted growth from malnutrition.
