Secretary-General Attends Commemoration of First World Humanitarian Day

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is writing a message in a visitor's book for the first World Humanitarian Day. The General Assembly has proclaimed 19 August as World Humanitarian Day to commemorate the 2003 bombing in Baghdad, and to honor all humanitarian, United Nations and associated personnel who have lost their lives in the cause of duty and those who have worked in the promotion of the humanitarian cause.
