UNEF Troops Keep Busy
Many organized and individual activities are helping to bring variety to the lives of the 6,000 soldiers from ten nations who make up the United Nations Emergency Force now serving the world organization in the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Desert. Although facilities for recreation, leave and leisure time are now far better than during the early months after UNEF reached Egypt, many of the troops -- whether engaged on patrolling the armistice line, guard duties or clearing mine fields -- must find most of their recreation close to their work. In many cases, they have done so with much ingenuity and according to the individual interests of the members of the several different contingents.
