Secretary-General U Thant in Europe

The Secretary-General, U Thant, left New York on 24 April, on a 12-day visit to London, Rome and Geneva.
While in Geneva, Secretary-General U Thant participated in a ceremony marking the choice of Geneva 50 years ago as the seat of the League of Nations.
Here, Secretary-General U Thant is seen listening to a statement being made by Mr. Willy Spuhler, Head of Switzerland's Federal Political Department. Standing with him is Mr. Gilbert Duboule, President of Geneva State Council.
