The steel mill is one of several industries in the Damodar Valley being serviced with power from the grid of the Damodar Valley Corporation which is carrying out a gigantic multi-purpose project for the unified development of the Damodar river system. Triple object of the project is flood control, power generation and irrigation with navigation. [No exact date]
