Secretary-General Official Trip to Afircan Countries
Secretary-General U Thant left New York on 28 January on an official trip to nine African countries – Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Guinea, Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Congo (Leopoldville). On 6 February, during his visit to Tunisia, the Secretary-General interrupted his tour in Africa and returned to New York.
