Soviet Premier Visits United Nations
Nikita S. Khrushchev, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, today visited the United Nations where he addressed the 82-Member General Assembly.
This photograph was taken as delegates stood to applaud the arrival of Mr. Khrushchev in the General Assembly Hall. As he proceeds up the aisle to the speaker's rostrum, Mr. Khrushchev acknowledges the applause. Directly behind the Premier are the President of the Assembly, Dr. Victor A. Belaunde, of Peru; and UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld. UN chief of Protocol, Mr. Jehan De Noue, precedes Mr. Khrushchev.
