Building New Lives

Refugees from Hungary and refugees of European origin from China have been accepted by the Government of Brazil among immigrants coming to settle. The refugees have also been helped by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and their transportation was provided by the Inter-Governmental Committee for European Migration (ICEM).

Some of the fifty Hungarian refugees disembarking at Rio de Janeiro from the ""Conte Grande"" after arriving from Genoa, Italy.
