International Law of the Sea

The most important attempt since 1930 to evolve the first comprehensive international agreement on the law of the sea is being made by representatives of some 80 governments meeting in Geneva under United Nations auspices. Among the difficult problems being faced are controversial issues such as the breadth of the territorial sea.
