Security Council Renews UNDOF Mandate for Six Months

The Security Council met on the morning of 21 May and unanimously adopted resolution 563 (1985) to renew the mandate of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) for a period of six months to 30 November 1985. The present mandate is due to expire on 31 May. The Force was established under Security Council resolution 350, adopted on 31 May 1974, to supervise the observance of cease-fire between Syria and Israel.
