Anti-Apartheid Committee Holds Special Meeting in Honour of Stevie Wonder

The Special Committee against Apartheid met on the morning of 13 May to honour Stevie Wonder, world renowned singer. On 25 March, he accepted a Motion Picture Academy Award for the best song in the name of Nelson Mandela, the leader of the national resistance, serving a life sentence in South Africa.
In doing so, Mr. Wonder expressed his solidarity with all political prisoners and the oppressed people in South Africa. As a result, his music was banned in that country.
