Press Conference by Stevie Wonder, Roberta Flack and Ben Vereen

Stevie Wonder (centre), world renowned singer, today held a press conference at United Nations Headquarters after he vas presented a citation by the Special Committee Against Apartheid in recognition of Mr. Wonder's opposition to racial discrimination and apartheid. On 25 March, he accepted a Motion Picture Academy Award for the best song in the name of Nelson Mandela, the leader of the national resistance, serving a life sentence in South Africa.

At today's press conference Mr. Wonder was accompanied by Roberta Flack (right) and Ben Vereen. At left is Joseph N. Garba, Chairman of the Special Committee against Apartheid.
