Security Council Considers Situation in East China Sea

The Security Council today approved an agenda containing items submitted by New Zealand and the USSR concerning the situation in the East China Sea and the Formosa Strait. It then voted to invite the Chinese People's Republic to participate in the discussion of New Zealand's item, to which priority was given, and to ask the U.N. Secretary-General to convey the invitation.
