An Exhibit on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy
An exhibit on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy is now on display at U.N. Headquarters, in the concourse of the first basement running between the Conference and General Assembly buildings. This exhibit, which will be at the United Nations until December 3rd, is on loan from the United States Information Agency and is one of several exhibitions which the Agency is sending out for information purposes to a number of countries.
Here is Mrs. Lakshmi Menon, one of the representatives of India to the current session of the General Assembly, looking at a dummy dressed with a plastic suit developed for the protection of workers at the U.S. atomic energy plants and used only in areas subject to high degrees of radioactive contamination (the leakproof suit is entered by the worker from an adjoining room through a plastic tunnel which culminates in the suit itself).
