Flags of Syria Raised at United Nations Headquarters

16 October 1961

At a brief ceremony here this morning, the flag of Syria was added to the 100 flags flying in line at United Nations Headquarters. Photograph shows a member of the U.N. Security Force raising the flag as three members of the Syrian Delegation look on. They are (1eft to right) Mr. Georges Tomeh, Ambassador Farid Chehlaoud, and Mr. Adib Daoudy. The flag consists of three horizontal stripes in green, white and black, with three red stars on the white center stripe.
