United Nations Volunteers (UNV) in Yemen

Mr. Fekrazad is one of 17 UN volunteers working on several FAO projects intended to improve the agricultural output in Yemen, under the U.N. Development Programme.
The UNV, established by the General Assembly in December 1970, is operated by the Administrator of the U.N. Development Programme. Designed to enlist the participation of skilled men and woman from both developed and developing countries in development projects assisted by the U.N. family of organizations, UNV began operations in January 1971, and now has about 200 U.N. volunteers serving in 15 developing countries around the world. The programme is voluntarily financed by Governments, non-governmental organizations and individuals.
