Farming for Development: College of Agriculture and Forestry
For some time to come the poorer countries of the world will have to rely on agriculture to raise their living standards and supply the capital they need to create industries. Agricultural production must therefore be increased. This requires tractors, fertilizers, new and better seeds, vast irrigation schemes, land reforms.
Teak plants being planted at the College of Agriculture and Forestry near Monrovia. With help from the Food and Agriculture Organization and UN Development Programme the Government has established this college, among other things, to train the necessary personnel and to conduct agricultural research in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture.
