UNEF Commander Visits Indian Troops on Armistive Demarcation Line

8 November 1957

Major General E.L.M. Burns, Commander of the United Nations Emergency Force, today visited troops of the Indian contingent (Third Batallion) maintaining patrols on the Armistice Demarcation Line.
Here is a view of the parade grounds as General Burns (on reviewing stand) took the salute at the march past of the Indian troops.
The Indian contingent of UNEF is being rotated after having served just two weeks short of a year.
