UNEF Commander Visits Indian Troops on Armistive Demarcation Line

8 November 1957

Major General E-L.M, Burns, Commander of the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF), today visited troops of the Indian contingent (Third Batallion) maintaining patrols on the Armistice Demarcation Line. The Indian contingent of UNEF is being rotated after having served just two weeks short of a year.
Seen here on the parade grounds shortly before the march past of the Indian troops are Lt. Col. S.N. Antia (India), UNEF's Chief of Operations, and Lt. Col. O. Deva, Commander of the Indian 3rd Parachute (Kumaon) Batallion.
