W.H.O Experiments in Nutrition in Guatemala
The daily dose of vitamin B-12 of the Pan-American Sanitary Bureau (W.H.O's regional office) in Guatemala. In the village school of Magdalena, in addition to free lunches provided by the Institute, half of the children are being given B-12 regularly and the others receive a pill of no nutritional value. The physical development of both groups will be compared. If the vitamin supplement is found to have a beneficial effect, it will be introduced in all Guatemalan schools. The institute has also established a clinic in Magdalena.
