Loans build industries. To solve the problem of financing economic reconstruction and advancement, a specialized agency of the United Nations, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, grants loans to war-devastated and under-developed countries. The loans are used for hydroelectric power development, e.g., Mexico (shown here), improvement of agriculture, rebuilding of port facilities, etc.
