UN Secretary-General Visits UNRWA Camps

Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld today visited two Palestine Arab refugee camps near Beirut. He was accompanied by the Director-General of the UN Relief & Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Henry R. Labouisse, and other high officials of the Agency. The party first visited the Dekwaneh Camp, where they inspected UNRWA installations and services provided for 2,000 refugees living in tents and mud huts; from there they went on to Dbaye, where the Agency has recently completed the construction of brick shelters for 1,800 refugees who moved to their new camp ten days ago.
