Fisheries Development in Panama

To ensure the rational exploitation of the shrimp industry, one of the most important sources of revenue in Panama, a national fisheries research laboratory has been set up for specialized study of shrimp resources. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is assisting the Government in this programme.
Mr. Oswaldo Sanchez, shrimp expert of the Laboratorio Nacional de Pesca (Natl. Fish Lab.), collecting samples of shrimp for statistical purposes. Samples are taken from each shipment before it is processed. [No exact date]
