UNEF Soldiers Dig Armistice Demarcation Line
At least once a year, usually after the rains of January and February have subsided, the contingents of the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) which patrol the Armistice Demarcation Line (ADL) between the Gaza Strip and Israel re-dig and clear the trench, some three feet deep, which constitutes the Line.
Here, a small detachment of Swedish soldiers of UNEF are seen at work clearing their section of the ADL, under the supervision of Staff Sergeant K.A. Nilsson (left). [No exact date]
