U.N. Assistance in the Congo

1 August 1960

Some 15,000 soldiers from eleven countries are now on duty with the U.N. Force in the Republic of the Congo, helping to restore order and calm in the country. Assistance from these and other countries includes technical and medical personnel, air transport, heavy materials, food and various supplies. U.N. Specialized Agencies are also cooperating in the UN effort.
