ECAFE Holds Asian Ministerial Conference on Economic Co-operation

A four-day Ministerial Conference to consider measures designed to speed up economic co-operation among Asian countries was convened by the United Nations Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East (ECAFE) here yesterday. Ministers and high-level representatives of 21 Asian countries attended the opening session.
Photographed as he delivered Philippine President Diosadado Macapagal's opening statement, Salvador Marino, the President's Executive Secretary. On Mr. Marino's left is Carnelio Balmaceda, Secretary of Commerce and Industry for the Philippines; on his right, U Nyun, Executive Secretary of ECAFE. Mr. Balmaceda was elected chairman of the conference.
