The 15-member organ of the United Nations Economic and Social Council prepares recommendations and reports to the Council on promoting women's rights in political, civil, social and educational fields. The agenda for the present session includes methods of educating new women voters on the use of franchise; economic rights for women, and cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO); educational opportunities for women, and prevention of discrimination on grounds of sex.
