First Special Session of the United Nations General Assembly

Dr. Abba Hillel Silver, at table second from left, President of the Zionist Organization of America and representative of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, speaks on behalf of the establishment of the Jewish National Home in Palestine, at the 7th meeting of Committee I (Political and Security) of the First Special Session of the United Nations General Assembly convened at the request of the United Kingdom to consider the Palestine question. The Jewish Agency for Palestine and the Arab Higher Committee of Palestine were granted a hearing before Committee I by decision of the Assembly.
