Security Council Unanimously Adopts Resolution 1129, Noting Expiration of United Nations Operation in Angola (MONUA)

Foreign Minister Sipakeli K. Walubita of Zambia addresses the Security Council, which met to take note of the expiration today of the mandate of the United Nations Observer Mission in Angola (MONUA). Through its unanimous adoption of resolution 1129 (1999), the Council also affirmed that the status-of-forces agreement applicable to the Mission will remain in effect until the departure of MONUA's final elements from the country.
