The United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in session, under the chairmanship of Mme. Marie-Helene Lefaucheux of France. The 15-member organ of the United Nations Economic and Social Council prepares recommendations and reports to the Council on promoting women's rights in political, civil, social and educational fields.
