Security Council Extends Mandate of Western Sahara Mission

20 October 1997

By unanimously adopting resolution 1133 (1997), the Security Council this morning decided to extend the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) until 20 April 1998, so that the Mission might resume the process of identifying prospective voters and increase its size in accordance with the Secretary-General's recommendations.
