Secretary-General Meets with Executive Director of UN Centre for Human Settlements

Secretary-General Kofi Annan meets with Anna Tibaijuka (left), Executive Director of the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements, on the second day of the General Assembly's special session on implementation of ""Habitat Agenda"" which emerged from the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Istanbul, 1996). At that Conference, the international community pledged action to ensure adequate shelter for all and the development of safe, healthy, equitable and productive human settlements.
