First Special Session of the United Nations General Assembly

Asaf Ali, left, India, Ambassador to the United States and chairman of the delegation from his country to the First Special Session of the United Nations General Assembly convened at the request of the United Kingdom to consider the Palestine question, and Dr. Tiburcio Carias, Jr., Honduras, and chairman of the delegation from his country, at conference table before the first meeting of the General committee. Committee, under the chairmanship of Assembly Presidents Dr. Oswaldo Aranha, Brazil, is composed of seven Vice-Presidents and the chairmen of the six main committees. 29 April 1947.
