General Assembly Opens Thirty-First Session

21 September 1976

The General Assembly, opened its thirty-first regular session this afternoon, elected Hamilton Shirley Amerasinghe (Sri Lanka) as its President and admitted the Republic of Seychelles to the United Nations. The Organization now has 145 Members.
