Farming for Development: Maize Field in Yemen

At the research farm, in Hudaydah which is operated with assistance from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), work in a maize field being done under the supervision of a UN Volunteer. Agriculture in Yemen is largely of a subsistence nature with grains, fruits, vegetables and cotton being the main crops. With help from UN agencies, the Government is carrying out agricultural development programmes aimed at improving the standard of living of its people. 1975.
