Women Participants in the General Assembly's Sixth Special Session

The sixth special session of the General Assembly was held at United Nations Headquarters on the problems of raw materials and development from 9 April to 2 May. This was the first time a special session of the Assembly had been called to deal with an economic matter rather than a specific political question. There was a noticeable absence of women among Member Governments' representatives at the session although some were in evidence among the supporting delegations.
