Celebration of International Day of Forests: "Forests and Education"

Hossein Moeini-Meybodi, Senior Forest Policy Officer with the UN Forum on Forests Secretariat of the Department of Economic and Social Affair (DESA), delivers an opening statement during the special event on ""Forests and Education"", held in observance of the International Day of Forests.
The International Day of Forests is held annually on 21 March to raise awareness of the importance of forests to people and their vital role in poverty eradication, environmental sustainability and food security.
