Secretary-General U Thant Visits Burma
Secretary-General U Thant left New York on 22 February to pay a 10-day visit to his native land, at the invitation of the Government of Burma. While there he exchanged views with General Ne Win, Chairman of the Revolutionary Council of Burma, and other members of the Cabinet. He also spent some time with his family and paid homage at the Shwedagon Pagoda.
