Security Council Recommends to General Assembly Admission of Georgia to United Nations Membership

The Security council adopted, without a vote, resolution 763 (1992) which provides for the Council to recommend to the General Assembly that the Republic of Georgia, formerly of the Soviet Union, be admitted to United Nations Membership.
Ambassador Jose Luis Jesus (Cape Verde), President of the Security Council (right), reads a statement on behalf of the Security Council following the adoption of resolution 763 (1992). Also participating in the meeting is Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali.
