Secretary-General Meets Foreign Minister of Soviet Union

Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar (right) meets with Eduard A. Shevardnadze, the Foreign Minister of the Soviet Union, who had come to UN Headquarters today for the Security Council meeting considering the use of "all necessary means" to compel Iraq to withdraw from Kuwait. The Soviet Union was one of the co-sponsors of the resolution.
