HABITAT: UN Conference on Human Settlements

A major UN conference devoted primarily to the problems of rapid, unplanned urban growth is being held in Vancouver, Canada, from 31 May to 11 June. Chief among the objectives of the Conference will be to demonstrate that solutions to these problems do exist if only the political and social will can be found to implement them.
