Decolonization Committee Holds Special Observance Meeting on Week of Solidarity with Colonial Peoples of Southern Africa

The Special Committee of 24 on decolonization held a special meeting this morning in observance of the Week of Solidarity with the Colonial Peoples of Southern Africa Fighting for Freedom, Independence and Equal Rights. At statement by Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim was read on his behalf by Tang Ming-chao, Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Trusteeship and Decolonization. Representatives of all Member States, as well as the specialized agencies and other organizations within the United Nations system, and representatives of non-governmental organizations were invited to attend this morning's meeting.
