Text on Zionism Approved by General Assembly in Series of Actions on Elimination of Racial Discrimination

The General Assembly tonight adopted a series of resolutions on the subject of the elimination of all forms of discrimination, in one of which it declared ""that Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination."" In other resolutions on this subject, the Assembly called for a series of measures in implementation of the programme for the Decade for Action to Combat Racism and Racial Discrimination; urged Governments to sign and ratify the Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid; and appealed to States to become parties to the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. The Assembly also took action on these and other proposals recommended in reports from the third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural).
