World Premiere of Von Einem Work Given At UN Day Concert
The thirtieth anniversary of the coming into force of the UN Charter was marked at Headquarters today by the traditional UN Day concert. A new work by the Austrian composer Gottfried von Einem was introduced at the Concert. The composition is a cantata entitled ""To Posterity"", and was performed in the General Assembly Hall by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Temple University Choirs conducted by Carlo Maria Giulini. The soloists were Julia Hamari, mezzo-soprano, and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, baritone. The Vienna Symphony Orchestra under maestro Guilini's direction was also heard in Beethoven's seventh symphony.
