Maputo Conference in Support of Peoples of Zimbabwe and Namibia, 16-21 May 1977

The International Conference in Support of the Peoples of Zimbabwe and Namibia opened on 16 May in Maputo, Mozambique. The Conference is being held from 16 to 21 May for the purpose of those Territories in their struggle for self-determination and independence.
Conversing, outside the plenary hall, are (left to right): Stephen Dlamini, President of the South African Trade Union Congress; Johnston Makatini, of the African National Congress of South Africa (ANC); Eric Mtshali, of the World Federation of Trade Union; and Frank Owen Abdulah, Permanent Representative of Trinidad and Tobago to the UN.
