Tree Planting Initiative in South Sudan
The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has undertaken a "Carbon Sink" tree-planting initiative in partnership with the Government of South Sudan. The Mission's Engineering Section purchased 5,000 seedlings of indigenous tree species, to be planted at both UNMISS bases and other locations in Juba, including schools, sports centers, institutions.
