World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Presents Secretary-General with Painting
The world heavyweight boxing champion, Muhammad Ali, paid a visit to UN Headquarters today and presented Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim with a painting of the United Nations which he had done. In an accompanying letter to the Secretary-General, Mr. Ali called his painting "a gift of peace from me in this year of the Child". Mr. Ali added: "I pray each of your nations will make a gift or sacrifice for peace in the world". At the end of the letter, Mr. Ali stated that "service to others is the rent we pay for our room here an earth". Mr. Ali met with correspondents following the presentation ceremony.
