Second Asian Population Conference Opens in Tokyo
Asia's second regional meeting on population policies and problems opened today in Tokyo with twenty-three nations in attendance. The conference, inaugurated by Japan's Deputy Prime Minister Takeo Miki, also heard addresses by U Nyun, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East (ECAFE, which organized the Conference with Japan as host Government), and Rafael Salas, Executive Director of the United Nations Fund for Population Activities.
