UN Secretary-General Returns to New York

Secretary-General U Thant and party arrived in New York tonight after official visits to five Asian countries: Ceylon, India, Nepal, Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Secretary General talked with leaders of these countries on matters of mutual interest. On route, he presided over the meeting of the ACC (Administrative Committee on Coordination) in Geneva, which was attended by the heads of all the United Nations Specialized Agencies. While in New Delhi, the Secretary-General received the Jawaharlal Nehru Prize for International Understanding which was awarded to him in September 1966.
